2009 is a unique year! It is a year of celebrations, with 2009 being the International Year of Natural Fibres, as well as WoodsEdge's 20th year of raising alpacas! We are proud to announce that the Spring Fling has been approved by the International Year of Natural Fibres Organizers, and will all carry the IYNF logo. Of special interest to all who want to sell alpacas, 2009 launches the new Spring Fling Spectacular Event, which is sure to be on your list of BEST MARKETING OPPORTUNITY OF THE YEAR.

It is also a year with economic hurdles for many. Knowing adversity equals opportunity, we have used our past experience running 17 successful alpaca events to come up with a new format for 2009 that will work well for both buyers and consignors. We have reduced costs to consignors, cut out many old school ways of doing things and retooled with a fresh, new perspective designed to promote and market YOUR alpacas.

What's new at the Spring Fling Spectacular?

Our new agri-tourism web site will soon be launched. This site interlinks with many tourism sites which we know have the right demographics for owning and raising alpacas. Our new web technology will allow you to post your Superstar entries yourself and upload their photos to the online catalog. And believe it or not, this expanded coverage of the event is saving money, which we've passed onto you!

With our own direct marketing email program well under way, we are planning to feature each and every Superstar of the Spring Fling in its own email! We know repetition, repetition, repetition is a marketing necessity, and we are going to promote your Superstars like no one else!

Although we have written the book on adding glitz to alpaca sales, dating back to the late 90's, we've worked hard this year to produce a big glamour effect for low cost. Thus, your Superstars will be walking on the red carpet with professional announcing each day of the event, providing more face time for your entry than at any other event!

Since today's most penetrating message in the sales arena is "added value", we have added a significant way to showcase exactly how your farm adds value by letting Gold and Silver Consignors bring their Herdsires to the event! And of course these spectacular sires will be penned individually and with their own daily red carpet review. Finally for all Sponsors, we are initiating a Farm and Alpaca area which is YOURS to decorate, promote your entries and deliver your farm's message from your own pens (provided of course) and personalized to your farm!

As an IYNF supporter we are gearing all our demonstrations and presentations to showcase a wide range of fleece to fashion messages which helps promote the underlying value of the alpaca industry. From the moment visitors arrive at the farm gate and hop on the big red farm wagon to be driven to the Spring Fling Spectacular, this promises to be an event to remember!
