Suri Llamas:
- The rarest
of camelids
- Ultra-fine
fleeces for soft garments
- Friendly,
smart, easy to train and handle
- Tremendous
ROI opportunity--get started on the ground floor!
- Lives compatibly
with other animals
Since the inception of WoodsEdge, we have sought ground floor opportunities
for breeding fiber producing livestock, not only for maximum ROI,
but for enduring success. Thirty years later, WoodsEdge has achieved
a consistent performance record in selecting breeds which have long
term viability for breeders in the Garden State and beyond. In 1976,
we brought the first Romney sheep to the state of New Jersey, which
continue to thrive in this entire region! In 1989, we were the first
breeder of alpacas in the state of New Jersey, and in 1993, had
the first suri alpaca born in this state. Now, there are over 125
New Jersey alpaca breeders, and the continuing success of that industry
is well known. Along the way, I have helped form groups like New
Jersey Wool Sheep Breeders, Mapaca (founding Vice President), Suri
Network (founding President), and Suri Llama Association (founding
Vice President) all of which continue to help breeders today.
It is our belief that suri llamas offer a truly unparalleled opportunity.
To “recreate” this ancient breed of suri llamas is one
of the most exciting projects I have ever been involved in! Over
the last ten years, the interest in suri llamas has developed into
a fledgling industry with enormous potential!
WoodsEdge is pleased to present the culmination of 30 years of
breeding experience in our selection of suri llamas for sale on
this site and at our auctions. Whether you are looking for an alternative
to your 9 to 5 routine, or wanting to diversify an already successful
farming operation, you will want to take a close look at the animals
offered for sale. We invite you to visit WoodsEdge, attend Star
Events auctions, and learn first-hand why we believe suri llamas
can be one of your brightest successes, not only for the short-term,
but for future generations.
